Henriot Brut Souverain captures one of the finest examples of pure Champagne expression. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in equal measure are elevated to new heights by the exceptional proportion of premier and grand cru wines, combining a sense of measure with the sheer joy of elegance.
Tasting Notes: A beautiful gold color. The bubbles are persistent, fine and regular. The nose is pleasant, made very elegant by the large amount of Chardonnay. The Brut Souverain is sharp, well balanced and harmonious on the palate.
Background: First cuvée to be created by Apolline Henriot in 1808, Henriot Brut Souverain is crafted every year. According to her, one year was not enough to tell the whole story of her terroirs. She therefore decided to put wines in reserve each year to incorporate them into a future blend. Thus, all the periods of the vineyard's life are represented in the blend of Henriot Brut Souverain.
